Description of the Work

A superb example of late Gothic sculpture.

The relief shows Christ placing the crown on the head of the genuflected Virgin.

The original polychromy and leaf gilding, though marked by time, highlight the mastery of Castilian carving.

The figures, surrounded by cherubs, exude a hieratic solemnity typical of the great retables of the period.
